Lessons learned: Digital advertising edition

We all have those things we look back on and think, “I wish I would have known what I know now before I did that.” As we reflect on our year in digital advertising, there are a few details that would have been useful to know before launching campaigns. Below, we’re sharing a few things about Choozle you may not have known before.

Ready, set, go!

It’s time to get started, but… how? Use our campaign planner guide to get a clearer idea of your budget, objectives and more – and our CPM cheat sheet is handy for calculating the required CPM’s within your campaign. Your campaign framework should be completed at least 72 hours prior to its start date to ensure a timely launch, as it can take up to 72 hours for exchanges to approve creatives and for any custom geolocation, CRM, and IP lists to process.

Managing expectations

Being successful in digital advertising is a marathon… not a sprint. Knowing what standards to set for your campaign is key if you want to get good results in the long run. Within the first 1-2 weeks of your campaign, check for a CTR of 0.07 or higher and a win rate between 10-30%. To make sure your data is as accurate as possible, we recommend waiting 1-2 weeks before making any optimizations.

#Help

As you get ramped up within our platform, you probably have questions come up along the way. That’s what our weekly office hours are for! Schedule a 15-minute call every Wednesday with our Customer Service team and ask anything you want about your account, campaign strategy, setup or optimization and we’ll walk through these steps together via screen share. Please note: these calls are for VIP’s (also known as current clients) only!

Creative confusion

Getting started with your creatives can be overwhelming. The Choozle platform accepts several different creative types and formats, including GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, HTML5 image files as well as 3rd Party Ad Tags from approved ad servers (HTML or raw JavaScript.) FYI – the best performing ad sizes are 160×600, 300×250, 728×90 and 300×600.

Big on the details

If our in-platform reporting isn’t granular enough for your detail-oriented team, (being big detail guys ourselves, we completely understand,) you can put in a request to see more in-depth reports. Just drop us a line in the support center to request one.
